Need for Fear and Doubt..

The headline of this post looks quite contradictory as one may ask why do we need to have negative traits such as fear and doubt. After all we have learn to be doubt free and fearless.

I have a contradictory point here. Imaging a person so fearless that he is not afraid of anything and so confident that doubt can never touch him. We know that that world is full of surprises. What if this person has not seen a single challenge in life which could make him doubt on his ideas or fear of the unknown happening. And this person becomes your guide/mentor. No matter what problem you approach with, he will always be fear-free and without an iota of doubt he will propose solution which you may like too.

Now you go plan to go on helicopter with this person for very important appointment and your driver gets sick at the eleventh hour. This gentleman without any fear and doubt says that don't worry, I will handle this copter. Whats the challenge in driving it. What if I have never taken a flight with such copter but I will manage. This would raise your eyebrow but as you trust this person, you might say that okay, let's go.

Well, I don't think I need to say what will happen next. So, this is how I make the point that doubt and fear are two very important things to a human being as they stimulate the otherwise lazy brain. When you are in doubt if your solution would work, your brain works fastest to examine possible failure cases. If you do not have any doubt, you would only come to know when you FAIL. Similarly, fear of unwanted happening makes you prepare in advance. Always be conscious of what you do and what may happen to you, this would make you feel safer and every shining. Also, remember excess of everything is bad, so do not just fear and be in doubt, sometimes be confident and feel good after you have given a thought about fear of failure and doubts of disaster.

Fear helps you overcome the unwanted, doubts help you get solution to possible failures before they occur. Do fear and doubt to an extent before being confident and assured of success. These are two vital ingredients to assured success that is waiting you.
